coaching or therapy?

You may be wondering whether therapy or coaching would be a better match for your needs.

I like to think of the difference between these two services this way:

A common reason to seek out therapy is when what you are experiencing is so difficult and painful that you are not doing the things you need and want to do, such as sleeping, eating, engaging at work, connecting with friends. We would then work to reduce your painful symptoms to help you get back to your life. In therapy we also have room to go deep to do introspective and healing work.

On the other hand, you would choose coaching when you have a nagging feeling that there must be more to life or that you want more for yourself. Or maybe you are aware of dreams, passions or a vision for yourself, but you can’t seem to take steps toward it. When what you are needing most is clarity and support, encouragement and accountability, coaching can be a great help.

A coaching session is highly structured around what you want to accomplish. A therapy session is less structured and there is plenty of room for processing what you are going through and exploring your internal world. You are welcome to schedule a complementary call to explore which service may be right for you.
